In Nepal, the Social Security Fund (SSF) is a mandatory government scheme established under the Social Security Act. Total monthly contributions equal 31% of an employee's monthly basic salary:
Employee Contribution (11%)
- 10% — Provident Fund (PF)
- 1% — Social Security Tax / Medical & Protection
Employer Contribution (20%)
- 10% — Provident Fund (PF)
- 8.33% — Gratuity Scheme
- 1.67% — Accident, Disability & Dependent Family
Monthly Ceiling Limit:
Contributions are subject to a maximum basic salary ceiling of NPR 350,000 per month. Salary amounts above NPR 350,000 do not incur additional SSF contributions.
